Theme: The Glory of God

Some conferences we attend mainly due to who the speaker is. It didn’t matter if the topic was How to Cook Curry in a Hurry, Frank Hultgren would still have gems to unearth and Jesus would be in it! What more with a topic like ‘The Glory of God’.

God wants to fill the earth with His glory. What does this mean? How can we touch the glory of God?

I was challenged…

Firstly – Jeremiah 29:13 – “And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.” A lot of our prayer focuses on trying to get something from God; it is without relationship. If God wanted us to seek Him the whole night, would we have the appetite? Or would we be too busy or lazy?

Secondly – We grieve God by ignoring the Holy Spirit, resisting Him and quenching Him. If we have a relationship with God, we would be prophetic. People want to hear what God has to say; not our leadership principles.

Thirdly – “Quit your kind of praying!” Which realm are we praying in? Are we praying for broken cars? Seek His glory and He will take care of grandkids, health and broken cars. Moses wasn’t satisfied with the Red Sea parting and miracles. We want miracles but Moses wanted God Himself.

I learnt…

Esther managed to get her nation saved in a single day when her friends sought God with all their hearts for three days and touched the glory of God. Our very best cannot save our nation without God’s glory.

God’s glory is the manifestation of God Himself. The glory of God is not us operating in the gifts of the Holy Spirit, but God doing anything He wants without us doing anything! Who needs spiritual gifts when God manifests Himself?!

How do we touch the glory of God? 2 Corinthians 3:18 – Behold Him. Focusing and concentrating on seeking God despite what we are going through is the greatest skill we can have in the spirit. If we behold, we will be transformed from glory to glory, from power to power, and from effectiveness to effectiveness.

I have never heard anything like this before on the glory of God and there are many lessons to chew on. Fellowship was great too. Getting to know how other people started their churches and the community works they do has really opened my mind to new possibilities.

If it’s Vistana Hotel again next year, I will be back. This time for the super comfortable bed, pillows and quilt which just swallows you up for heavenly sleep…
